Smilies on the Quick reply box

Hey guys

In other forum I use, I see that they have a smilies little box in the Quick reply box, thats very usefull so you dont have to go to advance mode, making posting faster.

Could this be possible?

To enable that globaly we would have to hack the forum code and that would cause possible upgrade issues in the future. We have deliberately kept the amount of code changes to a minimum to enable the software to run fast and stable and allow us easy upgrade paths.

If you wish the smilies to be enabled by default you can set that up in your user options so that you have the full reply box (including smilies).

I think it's in the UserCP that you can alter how much of the quickreply box you see on each page.
If it's not then it's a forum setting, which, if changed, would add to the bandwidth, speed etc of the forums for everyone on here, which isn't ideal unfortunately.

However, you can do what I do, if you hit 'Go Advanced' when you want to put some clickable smileys in, OR you can go one step further, and on the same screen if you hover over the smileys, they give the quickcode to type in, which I usually memorise for manual input in the QuickReply box.

Thanks both of you, I'll try to memorise them for manual input, because YES, it is a forum hack not an option in the admincp or the usercp. But I can live with it hehe
