This is my first post on the site, and I am quite new to photography. Any helpfull c&c and hints would be appreciated.:) This was taken of my wife at her gran's 80th birthday. It was just a quick snapshot while waiting...

Not bad at all except for the camera and finger next to her chin.
And you chopped her chin and (not mentioning the hair as that is not as important)

I think I'd be inclined to clone or darken the blue sleeve in the background as it's rather distracting, being so close to her face in the shot. Otherwise it's a good capture imo. You've certainly caught a great expression on her face although as OG says it would have been nice to have got all her chin in ;)

Cropping issues aside, as said above, its a good image. You've obviously got the right idea with the bokeh - I like it because, whilst the focus is on her face, its clear that she's in the middle of shooting the group in the background, but they are all sufficiently blurred not to distract you away from your wife's face. Nice one. So, for me, yes it works.

Thanks for all the "guiding". No cropping was done. I just took a quick snapshot , should've maybe taken a bit longer to get the composure correct. I will defenitly use all ** hints in the future.
