... by the weather,

Took this this morning, conditions not very great. In fact overcast and windy. But given that the Festival is coming to a close, I managed to avoid getting tourists in the frame.

Very true HUN, but I still had to clone out the litter.

I like the angle of the shot. But the castle has not been ruined by the weather it looks like a cloudy day their which is excellent nice soft light. The clouds act as a huge softbox and make the light softer so their are no harsh shadows. You've also exsposed for the sky rather than the forground.

hope you don't mind, Quick and dirty edit.

Just used levels to bring back the foreground. The sky is blown out now but that can be fixed on the location with a ND Grad filter??

Ally,

I don't mind at all, any help and diretion is greatly appreciated. I don't yet own an ND filter (something I must take care of shortly), as such I bracketed my shots with the intention of running them through Photomatix. However the resulting images are ghosting (no tripod present).

I did run the following the same shot through a single file process.

Original shot with a low D-lighting setting in Nikon's Picture Project.

I like it, even with the weather, more atmospheric (obviously).
