Another B&W conversion.

...and yes, the deer is a statue! :D
Oh I like that! Shame, if you hadn't of said about the deer, you could have gotten away with it!
Looks like a tough shot to expose for as well looking at those clouds, yet still looks very nice indeed! Would like to see the colour version as well if thats ok?
:)
Very nice job and I like the B&W conversion.
As Woodsy says, a very difficult seen to expose.
I like the rays falling on the cable car side of the lake.
Nice one.

The original was taken on my Ricoh Capilo R6 (small compact) as I was trying out my new toy and it was raining, so didn't want to get my canon 400D wet!!
I took one shot on the scene setting "landscape" but that blew out all the clouds, so I took another on "auto" everything and that got the clouds beautifully, so I used that one to do the conversion. It was practically mono anyway, due to the weather!!

Hehe :D I know what you mean about not wanting to get the camera wet! It does indeed look almost mono. Looking back I think you've done rather well to bring out the detail in the foreground, and the contrast on the deer in the conversion. Good stuff!

Thanks
I've been practising dodging and burning and selectively using levels on small areas.
