I would probably say mine is, I like the colours even though for some it's over processed.

Great thread idea. I will resist the best shots that others think and the emotive ones that I love for the people in them. This shot fills me with a simple desire; to return there and live it again......

I now can see a few technical flaws with this shot, but for me it holds more good elements than bad. It also marks the turning point of my 'style' clicking into place;

Hmmm, good question. At the moment i'd say this one, but i might change my mind when i've gone though the 600+ shots i took last week in Scotland...
http://www.lispfoto.com/images/portfolio/last_man_standing.jpg (http://www.lispfoto.com)
technically it's pants but I think it captures what this place is about and that's what I like (not a fan of perfection in my pics!) - tokyo fish market at about 4am...so much tuna it's no surprise they're running out! Once auctioned off it's taken to the respective 'shops' where they prepare the tuna in blocks for the sushi bars. They even scrape off the tuna from the bones to make another kind of sushi as it's so expensive.
Not to everone's taste i know, but even most veggies like a bit of tuna, no? :D
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/sllaw/TokyoTuna.jpg
ok its not technically brilliant. I took this on Sunday i was taking photos of waterfall & daughter seen robin fly down land on fence. I was about to change settings & was looked at robin i just knew it wasnt going to wait, i just managed to flick to auto, extended zoom & turn & click slit second after it was gone. It was wild west with camera

This is an interesting thead - there was one similar on another forum. I wasn't sure how I could post a photo though. Would this be my favourite photo, or the one I think is technically the 'best' photo? Perhaps even if I could decide on that, I'd still have trouble deciding on which one to post!
Some great ones posted above though...

I've just been looking through my photos to choose one to put in this thread and I can't! My favourites are changing all the time - I think partly because I'm improving and partly because the ones I like best right now are ones I have taken very recently - maybe because I haven't grown tired of them yet!
I cannot judge my best. I leave that to the viewer.
But one of my fav's' would have to be this.
I call it 'BIRTH of SPRING'

Well if I have to pick one out so far for the year, I think I'll pick this one. From a series of four shots that were taken in our local country park. I think these four from the day are my best of the year so far, this one just pipping it I think.

I also really like yours micheal! I want to try my hand at some slow shutter speed shots soon! Get some use out of my tripod!
I will have a browse through my pics and put one up! Bear with me as I dont have many because ive only been photographing for a month!

I like that one Dark Star, very good.

Dark Star - that's not motion blur, they're actually really moving! How did you manage that? It's like you opened the aperture at the end of the shot, or synced half the station lights with rear curtain

It's Liverpool Street in London. I love that station. I used to meet a few friends there, and I really liked standing up on the balcony watching people just... moving through their lives I suppose!
That photo's awesome. Just awesome.
I only took up photography this year so my choice must be my first pic, taken on Loch Watten at sunset, which gave me the confidence to carry on. I titled it 'Tranquility'

How I did it was as follows - shutter open for a few secs - camera held tight against the glass of the balcony at knee height. One shot - 3 tiffs from 1 raw, -2,0,2 and HDR in Photomatix
No filter.
Very nice Nettie, quiet, calm and well..... excellent.

Nice thread. Have taken hundreds, but I like this one a lot. Captures the moment. The striker in black, focussed on the ball, licking his lips, the defender peaking around his shoulder thinking 'right, lets have that then'.
Seems to sum up the game, which happened to be Bristol City vs. Swansea City. The guy in black, Lee Trundle signed for Bristol City in the summer for a cool £1 million.
Lets hope I get some nice work of him in action this season.

Only had the camera since June.....only had the lens for a month.....first time I've had the chance to photograph planes=more luck than judgment:lol:
I am quite pleased with this but it won't win any prizes in such distinguished company though

I keep coming back to this and just going "Wow!". It really is the shot of a lifetime and probably one of the best images I have seen on here, if it was mine it would be a huge print on the wall.
Simply stunning.
:agree: Absolutely marvellous!
This is a very inspiring thread. Keep 'em coming!

I remember the first time you posted that shot, love it.
As i have only had the camera out for four days this year it would have to be this one.

Nice shot Notch. Great colours - good job with what I imagine was pretty tricky lighting.

This one has to be one of my favourites so far, taken not long after my step into SLR land.
Photo was taken after a week long cleaning session before the Trax car show at Silverstone this summer. :gag:
