In Depth Critique

In the past we had a rule that you could only submit one picture per thread in the In Depth Critique area (I think we did anyway.. though it might be the wine).

I notice it seems the norm to post 2 or 3 pics in the same thread now, and I for one find it even more difficult to critique each photo as they may be totally different shots eg a landscape and a portrait.


What do other think? One shot per thread in the In Depth area?

Amen. Truly, I don't ever voluntarily critique any post with more than one or possibly two shots -- and if it's two shots, they need to be very similar.

I think we did away with the one pic rule when the forums were changed, and it was clarified that it was Indepth Critique, rather than just critique (I think....something like that).
If it would make the forum better and more smooth, then I'm sure we'd be all ears about changing it back :)

I woudn't mind folks putting in multiple threads in a day - just find the one pic per thread sensible in the Indepth.

Maybe if they are different types of pics . i.e. one portrait, one landscape.

but if it gets busy you may have loads of threads spread over multiple pages that no-one sees.
Who actually scrolls through three pages of threads ?

One pic per thread for me :thumbs: I think it would encourage more people to comment on posts in that forum too

and maybe add a per day to it..... That way as someone else said they forum doesn't get overrun. Doing a proper indepth critique takes time and it is hard/daunting when there are tons.

I think it may be better too.

In the past I have submitted more than one Photo and found I would get feedback on one photo and not the other. Now I know why :-)

It's now one pic per day in the InDepth Critique forum. (The rule have been updated too).

Do you think anyone will pay any attention to that new rule?

My real point is that having different rules for each section would be better served by having those rules at the top of each section. Otherwise not many will see them let alone pay attention.
