Hi all,

I've been lurking around for some time now and thought it would be a good idea to start sharing some of my images for constructive criticism and feedback. :)

I used a combination of various effects/settings in Alien Skin Exposure after my normal RAW/PS post processing.

As always, feedback is appreciated. :)

Tenby is one of the best places I know for photography, the wife and I were there back in the last week of July. I like your two shots, the fact you've managed to get an uncluttered beach in shot 1 is nice. Maybe you could try next time with an assistant - someone in bare feet could walk along the beach and leave a nice footprint trail for you and the viewers eye to follow into the picture.

Both nice shots and good processing.
JPS's idea with the footprints would be great to give a little foreground interest together with leading the eye into the picture.

Oddly enough, my girlfriend wanted me to photograph her footsteps in the sand for the background to a poem, so I'll have a look at incorporating them into the beach image and see what it comes out like.

Thanks for the comments and feedback, keep them coming. :)

great shots but the first would look better with 2/3 rule and as jps said lead in lines with footprints would make it , i would be proud of both pic's

Both V nicely taken. 1st one I'd personaly have taken a few steps and a small turn to the right, you would thenhave had the tide line leading your eye into the pic and what looks like quite a nice reflection in the water too. I may be gilding the lily though, so to speak.

Second one I wouldn't change anything. It's a great b&w conversion with a good range of tones. I imagine it would look when it's v.stormy and the waves are crashing around the rock.

Might have to wander up to tenby in the winter ;)

Nice shots psmeg - you're right Tenby is very photogenic, but then again most of that part of world is!!

I think if you'd not cut off the right hand edge of St. Catherines Island in the first shot - it would look slighly better. I think Ghandi's points are valid too, I'd still be chuffed to bits if that was one I'd taken ***'! ;)

As for the 2nd one - very nice, although again I'd possibly have cut off some of the dead space to the left of the pic to make sure you got the whole island in too! :)

Nice shots overall ***, looking forwards to seeing some more of your shots :)

I like them both, especially the last one

Both very nice, as said by others some foot prints might add something extra to fill the empty beach, altho saying that, adding footprints might make it a bit of a cliché. Either way I like them both :)

Thanks very much everyone for the positive and constructive comments, they are greatly appreciated. :)

I agree about cutting the end of the island off, but I have to confess that I really didn't spend a lot of time composing the shots in the first place. However, when I visit again I think I'll take a little more time to get creative.

Hopefully we'll be spending a week in Tenby next summer, so I can see some early morning and late evening shots to capture the beautiful sunsets and sunrises. :)

These are both so close to being perfect.......personally I'd leave them as is. However.......

You could try "adding" the end of the island with a bit of careful cloning.....;)

A crop in the first one to bring the horizon either down or up (whichever pleases your eye best) would also work but I actually like the bare sand. There doesn't always have to be a foreground object.......the bare sand here is foreground enough, for me.

Nice to meet you!
