Today Liverpool is 800 years old. Thats pretty cool. I had planned to get up at 5am and shoot the sunrise but I felt I needed the sleep for the 800 project instead. I awoke to find its raining so I’m glad I chose sleep. I wanted this shot to feel like it could have been taken at Liverpool’s last birthday, although the Liver Building wasn’t completed untill 1911 so its a little off.

Camera: Canon 30D // Focal Length: 24.0mm // Exposure Time: 200.000 s // Aperture: f/8.0 // ISO: 100 // Exposure: Manual

Some blue sky Is actually showing now.

Nice, was that taken before they knocked down the old Mercedes showroom on Mann Island?

I find the rubbles too noticible now.:(

Liverpool's last birthday was last year wasn't it? Ha ha, know what you mean though!

It does have an old feel to it though. That part of town must've been very interesting back there with all the warehouses along the strand.

Max, the rubble can make a good photo opportunity - catch it while you can!

Maybe I could do a photo of the rubble but I'm not sure whether It will ruin a pic of If I take a pic of the Graces from the Albert Dock entrance.

I was just about to ask how you managed a 200 second shot in bright sunlight! Very good, like it a lot.

Slightly off topic but do you have any tips on B&W processing. Yours seem to come out more contrasty then mine without blowing out the highlights. They look sharper as well at that size. Do you re-sharpen after re-sizing for web?

Quick answer, I do resharpen after resizing for web.
