Hi, when I first joined the site you could view the classified without even posting, now you need to make 100 posts before you can even view them.
As a forum admin myself I understand and agree with the idea of restricting areas so as to encourage people to talk.
However, is a hundred too many to encourage people to make reasonable contribution or does it potentially encourage short non descript banter that isn't that informative?
Does it also reduce the audience and thus the max selling price for those placing items in the classified?
I appreciate these are the forum rules, and am happy to abide by them, and perhaps this has all been discussed at length before. I am simple curious as to the thought processes behind making the in the way it has been.
PS I'm not trying to troll or flame or asking for an exception, only curious, especially as if the replies are persuasive I may look at introducing such a rule for sections of my own site. (an RPG PBP website)
