I love this, reminds me of walks in the Peak District, muddy boots and blisters too. :)

Hmm, Great shot. Really nice, and yet for some reason I don't think it was taken at the golden hour. Can you confirm? Possibly proves that's not always the best time to get good landscape shots.

Taken about mid-day.

I think you've gone 2 for 3 here. The beach and the morning light shots are both brilliant pieces of work to my eye. This one doesn't meet those standards.

There's a few bits that don't seem to leave the frame in a balanced way and the big blown section in the sky keeps drawing my eye.

Actually, a crop of the bottom to where the lowest part of water exits the shot seems to make all the difference for me and the sky could be sorted out with some ps faffing.

Perhaps there's still 3 for 3 in there somewhere. ;)

I like the straightforward honesty of this shot. It is not trying to be too clever and let's this mountainous area speak for itself. I can forgive it the shortcomings that dazza points out, although his points are valid, and do not find it uncomfortable to view. Very nice indeed Ian.

I really like this shot - it just oozes calm and tranquility. I can almost feel the moody silence.

it works for me, especially the clouds rolling off the peaks
there seems to be more colour in the forgreound, tapering off to b/w (grey) in the background
is that how it was, or has it been "assisted"?

I think it is very atmospheric....silence.

You could always tone down the blown highlights mentioned above but I don't think it detracts that much (I didn't even notice until I read that post!)

Nice work.

Just how a shot like this should be.

I'm looking out my window as I type this, lots of big, fluffy clouds with the sun behind them; they have blown highlights.:D

I don't find that the highlight in this pic are to distracting, that the way it was (and is).

Hi,

Like the atmosphere of the shot, great - a bit too much "HDR effect" for my taste though.

Location -- view of Pen-yr-olwen from Llyn Idwal/Devils Kitchen ?
