Hi all,

I'm just about to invest in some filters (I've decided on brand based on another forum post) and would be really interested to know which square filters get most use. My main interest is landscape and am thinking along the lines of some ND grads (hard or soft??) and maybe a nd or two. Does anyone get any use from a coloured grad (sunset, blue etc)?

So which 3 would you have???

If I could only take three it would be, ND Grad 0.3 Hard, ND 0.6 Soft, ND Grad 0.9 Hard.

I do have some sunset filters but don't use them.

For me, it would be a 0.3 and a 0.6 ND grad and a 4 stop ND as well

Thanks all! I also have the same message on another forum and everyone seems to go soft - how often do you use a hard grad and in what situations?

Thanks

Andy

The use of soft or hard really depends on how defined the horizon line is. Ive only got a soft at the moment, but as many of my shots are seascapes, I really could do with a hard one as well.

ND Grad 0.3 Hard (1 stop), ND 0.6 Hard (2 stop), ND Grad 0.9 Hard (3 stop).
