Careful, if you stack too much stuff together your camera ends up looking like a rifle

Haha no it was resting, I never put any insect in the fridge, wifey wouldn't let me even if I did want to. I like to chase and stalk my insects. I find insects in my garden are more accepting of me then the insect out in the countryside.

Where's the proof of that? ;)
Come on, show us, don't be shy.
Lovely clarity. What was the complete set-up (lens and all)?

Thanks Slapo, i used my Panasonic FZ8 with a Raynox msn 202 onboard flash diffused with a home made milk carton diffuser. Oh yet blood sweat and tears to boot
If you ask Messiah Khan nicely I'm sure he will show you his extra long pinhole for reading light up close ;) that sound like a good idea for a new thread. my gear's longer than you gear
These are amazing.
/heads off to google raynox
Shot in raw?
I have found the jpeg samples I've seen from the FZ8 very muddy, which is why I ask :)

No, 7mp jpegs resized to 800x600. If I was shooting for a quality print out I would consider Raw to get the exposure spot on. I find not a lot of difference when making shots this small for the web. I can't say I've had muddy shots from my panny, I do shot no higher than iso 400 because the noise gets very bad above 400. I mainly shoot iso 100 though.

Unbelievable...
Think its time 'Talkphotography' gave you your very own forum "ULTRA Macro".
I am really starting to get an inferiority complex when i compare your pictures to mine.

Don't, at the very least use to learn. Everyone starts somewhere, I had to, it's from the advice of others I am now taking shots I like. The more you practise and the more shots you look at in a photographically way the better you will become. There is some extremely good photogs on here and from the friendly exchanges I've had with them am sure help is forthcoming if needed. Hope that doesn't make me seem big headed as I really am not:wave:

Well I've got a bit of space between my ears so the Hubble would have been a good choice but alas it was my Raynox msn202 fixed on my panasonic FZ8:D
