how much of a difference does the Raynox make to how close you can go?

It makes quite a difference. Without the raynox I can get 6cms on the screen and with the raynox I can fit 4mm on the screen so quite a difference indeed.

hmmm....got some screw on close up lenses for my kit lens, but they wont fit on my tamron...

about 5cm's away so very close and I approach them very slowly.
