View Full Version : Another Goldfinch - sorry!
I know this isn't a great shot technically as it is cropped quite a bit, but I like these birds so much I just wanted to share it :)

Don't be sorry Ewan, I could look at these beautiful little birds all day long. Lovely shot.
Don't apologise Ewan....that's what the forums are here for.
Nice shot....lovely colourful bird. You'd love the lakes around here....loads of different species.
Thanks for your comments guys :)
I do love the lakes around there Brains - been to NW (I gather that's where you mean :D) on holiday quite a few times :) Unfortunately only had my little fuji camera then :(

Very nice Ewan, colours look spot on
Cheers everyone :)
I'll try and get some more tomorrow - the trouble is predicting when they are going to come as their visits are very...well...unpradictable!

Great to see you getting better and better Ewen. Its a great little shot you have there. Slight shame about the background which I find a little distraction, but other than that nice work.
Thanks everyone :)
Richie - it's just a case of moving very, very slowly! Or in my case, hiding behind a door
I agree with you on the background MK - it's a bit distracting but better than a bright sky I guess :)
Nothing wrong with sparrows OG!

great shot, i wish i had a garden, all ive got is a yard and the only we get here are jackdaws and occasionally some bluetits. I personally like the backround it goes with the colours of the bird so its not a clash or too distracting. But get some more shots up here soon !
DB - I don't have much of a garden either. I think we get goldfinches, collared doves, blackbirds and wood pigeons but that's about it. Do you have any feeders/a bird table?

Got a table but its never been used but ive just rang my mum and i think shes going to get some stuff for it, so that should be good.
Sounds great :)
For goldfinches you'll want Niger (aka Thistle) seed in a feeder. They love it :D
