Whilst on holiday in Cornwall we visted an Otter santuary. Cute little things but they don't stay still for long :D the wallaby was more obliging ;)

So I thought I would try out my new lens for the first time and these are the results. The otters aren't as sharp as I'd have liked :( but that's because of poor technique rather than the lens!!!) :D

Awwww ... really good otter shots.
Wally is not bad either, pin sharp, but I'm not enthused with the background.

I found that with my 70-300mm - seemed slightly soft at first but once I started using it properly it got sharper :D

I like the otter shots but like OG I think the kangaroo thingy needed a different background.

Thanks guys for your comments. I couldn't really do much about the background in the last one as it was in a wooded area. :)

Great images, and excellent detail.

The first otter is a corker! Other two are good as well! Wallaby's eye is pin sharp! Nice shots!

:agree: But I'm going to go against the grain here & say that I quite like the background in the wallaby shot too, toning is very nice & ties in well with the image imho

Thanks once more for your comments everyone. Still practising with the lens, hope to get some birdy shots but not been too successful so far :)
