Hop on baby!!

Found these two up to no good, im amazed they can fly like that!!!! I'm assuming they are Damsels, please correct me if they aren't!

had to do a bit of pp with these as I didn't realise I was in jpeg mode and i managed to really underexpose them.

They are Dragonflies Antihero, Damsels fold their wing back along their abdomens dragonflies can't do that. Can't tell you what species they are as I'm not up on my Dragonflies but, a guess would be a Ruddy Darter or Common Darter. Lovely shots BTW.

thanks AJ, for some reason I thought dragonflies were bigger...these guys are about 1.5 - 2 inches long. There were some big beggers flying around hunting which definitely must have been dragonflies, but they were feeding and just wouldn't land!

i thnk theyre both fantastic.

scraggs i agree that the 2nd one is distracting but i think that works, showing the great camoflage of the dragon fly.

A big well done on these shots.
