Here's another photo I took during our cycling trip up to Scotland (see Kearvaig sets). This was actually taken on the way back home. As you drive along the A836 towards the A9 you climb steadily until you come to a rest point and an amazing viewpoint.

This is the Dornoch Firth and once again, the clouds are superb. I have looked through the photos I have taken and again I'm stunned by the difference in the clouds compared to here in the NW England. We just simply get a complete grey/white blanket. The bane of all photographers.

Anyway, as you can see the view really is pretty spectacular.

What an incredible picture. It sort of jumps out to you like 3D. I can't just place the location though:thinking: Close to Bonar Bridge? Goes to check map:exit:

Edit. I suspect you mean the A836 too?

Thank you Sean. The crazy thing was that this was on the way home. On the way to Durness when we passed over this area, we had full fog lights on and were down to about 20mph due to the conditions. We had no idea what we had driven by :). So glad it was clear on the way back.

That's the viewpoint on the Struie - it's signposted as an alternative tourist route to the usual A9 :)

Very nice, I would say you got lucky with the clouds. Its more often than not just blanket greyness, but with the current stormy weather systems that have been passing over the clouds have been excellent. Not that I took any photos, I just admired them!
