Went to our local Nature Reserve today (Pensthorpe, near Fakenham, Norfolk) and took aload of photos of the birds. This was one of the better ones (I think!!!).

Let me know what you think. Taken with my Nikon D40 and my 55-200mm lens. Can't remember what type of bird it is either!!

I like that very much :) Can't help with the ID I'm afraid - have you got a pic of it with its beak out of the water? - might be easier to ID :)

I'm not sure...Looking in my birdbook I think it may be a black-winged stilt, but this one doesn't have any black on its neck which the latter does. No doubt Ven or Mitch will be along soon to ID it :)

Thanks Ewan, I was so busy taking the photos etc that I didn't take any notice of what they were, that will teach me!!!

Very nice!!! Is that your new lens??? I'm borrowing a 70-300mm at the moment, cant wait to do some shooting with it:D
