Had a trip out today with my experimental macro setup, and managed to come away with hardly anygood shots thanks to a persistant wind that was blowing things all over the place!
This was highly annoying when your working so close and the DOF is so shallow!

Haha welcome to the challenge that is MACRO. shallow DOF and wind don't go together. Nice coloured garden orb spider. I just put a couple of cranefly shots up on POTN They have large haltere (modified second wing shown here under the wing on the left). Nice set of shots AH. :)

hehe.....the spider in #1 was fairly big, so saying its face looks like its bum might not be such a good idea!

i wouldn't do that! honest! :naughty:
This is the first time i will really be observing what insects will be around, and am noticing more spiders and craneflies and a lot less of everything else! What do the winter months hold in store for the lovers of all things insects? Is there a different selection of bugs from summer, or is everything as thin on the ground as the soon to be frost?
These are not bad at all, lift up some things in the garden bugs love hiding under them but you have to be quick at getting them.
