Friday thinking Caps - a bit of fun....

OK, tomorrow night I am attending the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Should be a fabulous evening and very photographic....except of course, no cameras allowed! :shake: :bang:

So, as a bit of Friday fun, anyone suggest the best way to sneak a D200 and 18-70 lens past security AND then take pictures without being noticed? :thinking: :naughty:

My plan was this: We got the tickets from our neighbour and friend who is a harpist with the BBC SO, so I am thinking of inserting the camera inside the sound board at the base of the harp.... but she wasn't too happy with my plan to attack it it with a hole cutter for the lens to sit in or with the idea of attaching the remote to the g-string :whistling: :lol:

anyone else got a better plan? ;)

Wear a top hat with your tails ... :suspect: ... it won't be seen by security, even if they think (?) to check it, and you can then produce it like a rabbit when inside ... :D

Pop down to your local antique shop for a victorian ear trumpet and hide the camera in that. No one will get suspicious as you pan the trumpet around to hear different parts of the orchestra.

If anyone asks you what you're doing.... just say: "Pardon?"

Assuming you choose to go past male security guards it is easy to get it in.

Put it in your handbag(maybe even in the kitchen sink that'll be in there).
No bloke is going to want to look through a woman's handbag no matter what.

I know its late, but had to report in. Had a fabulous evening, what a gig that is, you have to be there to realise how good it is....but, better than all that, my harpist had taken her Nikon Coolpix 4800 in earlier in the day, so I got free rein with it once the gig had started. Ok, the pics are not fantastic, not knowing any of the cameras settings had to have a quick fiddle and then hope for the best especially as our view was from up behind the orchestra, but got a few goodies so will post tomorrow. :D

Just out of interest, were there many people with creatively-smuggled DSLRs present?

Actually I spotted one. Down in the 'arena' where they stand up, they queue for hours to get near the front and take in bags of food and drinks for before the start and the interval...one woman was definately weilding something big but I did notice she wasn't using it during the performance.

There were a couple official togs stood immediatelt below us near the end, so I indulged in a little bit of guess the lens, but otherwise, there were loads of compact cameras, with everyone using flash.....from 300ft back...in the stalls....etc :bonk:
