View Full Version : BritCar 24hrs - Day shots
Hi folks
I finally managed to finish processing the daytime shots from my second visit to the Britcar 24hrs (see here (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=32709)for the night time shots from the first visit).
There's quite a few on my gallery here (http://www.diesel-power.org.uk/album07/britcar24hrs2/), but here are a selection.
Taken with D200 and 120-300 2.8. First time I've used it in really good light, and boy is it good! All shots are uncropped.
Apologies that they are a bit samey, but there arent many good shooting positions at Silverstone!

Great set Joe ... ... especially like the second nearly very much ... :suspect: ... but these DO come in Green you know ... ;)
Nicely done all the same m8 ...
:p
Nice photos, I hope to be able to get some photos myself when they race at Brands in November. Any idea what the Top Gear car had for sponsorship on the opposite side? There was a photo of the damaged car in today's Sun newspaper. The door was open and only the word 'penis' could be seen, much like the 'accidental' application of sponsorship on the drivers side that was pointed out in your night time shot.

Nice shots of HAMMOND driving Joe!!!!!
(will be trying to process some of mine later! :p)
Nice Joe. These are great.
who won?
I believe the Red Bull Z4 was leading for most of the race, but I'm not sure if he won in the end or not. I will have to check the results. One of the Mosler's was 2nd most of the race too.

Awesome pans Joe, is the 120-300 a new lens or is it your just your making a general comment about light and the UK weather? ;)
Favourites:- 11 and 16 for me.
Cheers Tom. Nah just a general comment really. I havent done a lot of good-light panning with the 120-300 and D200 so far, so the experience was good.
They must have put in some steep hills at Silverstone or I'm drunk, one of the two
great set Joe but I'd say, in comparison with the rest, the first is soft.

Agreed, its only really sharp at the front of the Beemer. I was hoping that wouldnt matter!
Thanks for your comment! :)

It doesn't really, it's just that the rest of them are so good it suffers by comparison. I tried out the 120-300 in the shop the other day, heavy brute of a thing

Yeah, 2.7kg aint light. Defo needs a monopod or other support! So worth it though! :D
