Good stuff, I really like No2, even though his eyes are lost it suits the shot.

Did you take No1 for her Criminal Injuries claim?

Excellent shots, really like the 2nd & 5th - the toning is spot on imo

:agree:

What happened to the person in #1 ? If it was some toe rag I hope he/she got all that they deserved.

Thanks for the comments guys, the person in the first photo is my nan, she tripped over a paving slab in the street and took the full force of the fall on her face. Broken nose, two black eyes, smashed glasses...was heartbreaking for me to see her like that at the time, but she didn't mind me taking a photo. She's back to perfect health now just in case anyone wondered :)

Some powerful images there Sam - No5 is my personal favorite, I love the composition and the strong eye contact.

Glad your gran fully recovered

Great to read your Nan is fully recovered, bless her. Send her my best yeah even though I don't know her :)

4,5,6 are the ones for me though, especially number 4. I love deep tones and dark shadows - and is an area I am really interested in and want to try out with a model if I ever get the chance. I think it may have made the image a little more appealing if the blouse was undone (not necessarily for reasons of showing more of her breast), but what I felt would be adding to the shadow effects in the image.

Just my £0.02p worth :)

PS / Edit: If anyone knows how I'd find models willing to do this type of work, please let me know - I have no clue! thanks.

What I've found MusicMan is that if you have like-minded artistic friends they seem to jump at the chance of doing a bit of modelling if you ask them nicely. Thanks for all the nice comments as well guys :)

Top shots and top marks to your nan for letting you take that image!

I like #1 & the last one. Glad to hear your nan is better. Looks horrific but the portrait you've done screams that one out. The last I like because of the crop and the pose. Looks great :)

#1, #2 & #6 for me, they are strong and communicate emotion, #3 & #4 not so much and #5 I don't go much on upside down portraits...did you look at it the other way around?

I have, but I intentionally shot it upside down so looking at it the right way round just looks and feels wrong. Thanks for the comments :)
