Welcome to the 2011 Talk|Photography Photographer Of The Year Competition.

Vision Graphix will provide a print of the winning image for the winner each month
This year, the themes are designed to make you think, to encourage the imagination.

The deadline for entries is the 11:59pm on the last day of the month, shortly after that a POLL will be made for you to vote for you favourite entries that month. This process will then repeat each month with a leader board being published after each round. The winner of each month will receive a prize, currently a free print from Vision Graphix. The member with the most votes at the end of the year will win the coveted TP POTY Trophy.



So on with the competition;

'GETTIN' WET!'

On the water, by the water, in the water. Make a Splash.

This was actualy a demo they give anually in my hometown of Worcester. So he was saving a collegue in this instance.

Shot on film so no Exif: Pentax MX, 1 second Exposure @ F22 with Red filter. Lens was Vivitar 19mm f3.8. Film is Adox CHS 25 ART.

Shot during a day out for Total Sea Fishing magazine down in South Wales.

The angler in the foreground is Terry Tomas, the 'welsh wizard as he's affectionately known, and in the background, Ogmore local John Revere. The feature was about catching mullet from tidal rivers so with the tide coming into the estuary, it was rude not to have a crack at them as they moved up river.

We ended up with one thanks to John's knowledge of the river and its inhabitant. Excess freshwater coming down the river put paid to our chances in the end but nonetheless, it was a great day in great company...
