Was enjoying a brew in the garden yesterday when we had some unexpected visitors go by...

They flew round a couple of times and then all split up to land.
Not the greatest pic in terms of action or quality, but they always bring a smile to the face of anyone.
The little lad two doors was going nuts!:D

Nice when something like that happens, especially when you have your camera ready and capture it, nice job .
Great capture for a snatch shot!!
Cool shot :)
I saw the Red Arrows fly over a couple of days ago but was at work so didn't have a camera... Ah well :shake:

It was pure chance...I'd just been out to get a shot of a Steam Engine passing by our local station....unfortunatly the Sun was directly ahead and couldnt get a shot.
I'd just got back and was sat in the garden grumbling about it to my gf when I could hear them coming. I missed the first pass but this was the second before they all broke up to land at Filton.

Well done capitalising on the opportunity. Nicely balanced shot and a bit of good luck with the clear sky too.

Rich,
Nice shots - I saw them that weekend a few times too! :)
They were based in Filton for the weekend to do the Welsh Festival of Air in Swansea!
I was lucky enough to be wandering along the path along the river at Severn Beach on Sunday to have they fly over on the way home - as you say - they always raise a smile!
Did you see the typhoons at Filton on Thursday? I missed them but heard them anyway! ;)

Yes I saw them there with the A340 that was doing engine tests up till 23:00 that eve.
One of the Typhoons took off on Thursday night at 18:00, saw it from the coffee area at The Mall...did the usual low across the field and then straight up with full afterburner.
The second left on Friday about 16:30.
I managed to get some pics of the Arrows and the Typhoon when they flew past a few months ago in recognition of the workers of Rolls Royce...as you can see it was when we had the "fantastic" () summer weather....

Nice shots Rich - you're a bit luckier than me I see - I was in Tesco Car Park when the typhoon and the 'Arrows went across that day!
Luverly sight ***' - thanks for sharing the shots of that day too! :)

Only lucky as my gf works on the site of the airfield and gets to hear about these things;)

Hi,
I was at the Southport Airshow on Saturday (bargain at £7).. the Typhoon was amazing! Awesome sound as it blasts past followed by the glow of afterburners as it pulled into some turns, great show.
I was most impressed by the Chinnock, i didnt realise they were so versitile!
Got some shots from the day but they are all very poor.
Cheers

Will do...
The weekly Baluga flights are due to commence soon details to follow
and there is a rumour that the two seat Typhoons returning....
@ eeverson
Yes the Typhoon is a tasty bit of kit and always performs well at shows, although operationally, times have changed.
The Fairford RIAT 06(?) when it got a little to close to terra firma and scortched the new runway to be immediatly grounded was interesting to see!

I had to laugh @ the typhoon @ RAIT this year - the pilot seemed to have ALOT of trouble keeping the speed down...everytime he flew over the carparks - there was a chorus of car alarms going off - priceless! :D
I was earwigging a conversation between some typhoon & F16 pilots - and even the F16 pilots were impressed with the power it can generate!!
Oh and cheers Rich, I'm always interested in what goes on at Filton! Been watching the Spitfire & P51 flying around the area alot of late :D

P51 flew out towards Wales last weekend (Sun) and not seen since...
The Spitfire was doing a small display this Sat over the airfield...lots of wing waving. Think it was to do with the opening of the new RR facility.
The Typhoon power to weight ratio is massive which helps!

I was lucky enough to be visiting RAF Scampton (where the Reds are based) on that day and sat in on the brief for the fly past until now i've hadn't seen any photos of the flypast so thanks for posting.
PS, you almost didn't get that flypast as Red 1 has a bird strike on take off, had to land and get airborne in the spare jet. If Red 1 doesn't fly they don't display.
