Here is my first attempt at underwater macros. After seeing RobertP's mosquito shots I just had to have a go. Mine look to be a different species to Roberts though. More can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alby_oakshott/sets/72157602044291638/

Very cool. How have you shot these? Did you put them in some sort of container?
Think i'll give up and go home:D, nah it just inspires me more.

Hi MK, I got two small pieces of glass a piece of cable and a couple of clamps. I made a ushape with the cable and clamped the glass either side filled with water and a larvae. Then shot through that.
Think i'll give up and go home:D, nah it just inspires me more.

Think you have got a bit better contrast. Where was the flash positioned? I had mine above the tank while shooting from the side.
Browsing the macro section is making a change from rotating wonky scenery shots :)

Hi Robert, I had the on board flash only, no hotshoe on the FZ8, it was diffused with a homemade diffuser and shot through the glass.
What great shots . Well done
