Photoshop action advice: how to open most recent...?

Hi All

Can someone who is a Photoshop expert advise me how, using an Action, I can open the most recent file in my File > Open Recent list?

When I record and create an action to do this, it always opens the absolute file referenced and not the last opened i.e. the one at the top of the list.

Any advice?

I've had a go trying various things and can't seem to get it either, I did manage to do a batch select based on an open action using a menu option, but first set your preferences to remember only 1 recent picture, I nearly got it to work, but it needs more work??
