Like most motorsport peeps & motorsport togs, Silverstone is a must go to.

Since I am not based in the UK, attending any motorsport event in the UK is like planning a vacation.

I will be at Silverstone soon, and one of the things I want to take home is good photos. I have to admit, I will be satisfied with good photos, but I am doing my best for great photos, no matter the event.

From Google maps and watching the MotoGP & F1 races live, it seem that there are very few places where one can get close to the track.

I use two lenses when travelling, 300/F4LIS and 400/5.6L, because of their managable weight.

As a total stranger to the track, I would like some advice on where to take pics at Silverstone. Do not take access into account, as I would firstly go to a low profile event where this is not an issue.

Posting questions in the photo sharing part of the forum will probably not yield you anser answers. I hope that you got the answers you needed. There's a 'talk motorsports and transport' section here (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=95), this is section for posts such as this.

Hope that helps.

I made a guide not so long ago, which whilst it's more based on just general viewing of the race rather than photography, but it would give you a good idea what the corners are like.

Thanx, I actually forgot about this thread. Today (28th) was my first ever visit to Silverstone. I have been allocated good parking but I can see traffic is going to be interesting.

I could not manage to find a place which would rent me a buicycle cheaper than a car, as I would have loved to park otherside of the highway and cycled.

Thanx for the link to the guide, it is going to be very helpful
