For those that aren't aware of them, they are the Op/Tech Pro Strap.

Anyone who knows their onions, know that Op/Tech Pro are the daddy of camera straps.

You can, and because they have special buckles, you can even remove the neoprene section and connect the two ends together if it's in the way.

For fellow Nikon users, I have found that the Pro Strap works fine with my D90 and D300 in spite of the suggestion in post #1 that you need the Pro Loop strap. The width of the strap where it connects to the camera is slightly narrower than the strap supplied by Nikon. The reason that I chose the Pro strap is that according to the Op/Tech website it can be adjusted to a longer length than the Pro Loop strap so that I can carry the camera across my shoulder.

Can anyone confirm if this can be worn diagonally across the body (like with a black rapid / Q strap?) or is purely for round the neck or straight over the shoulder ?

On its own, not truly Black Rapid style because it fixes to the camera lugs - it could be converted with the aid of one of the BR (or clone) fasteners and a carabiner but it's mainly designed for shoulder/neck. For me it's an excellent shoulder strap because of the shoulder pad and non-slip design.

The Pro-loop has connectors that will be easier to put on a D7000 due to the eyelets on them - that said either should work, the pro strap are the same as Nikon's standard straps.

Of the current range, the D90 and below have the flat connectors suited to the flat loop, the D7000 and D300 up have the eyelets suited to the pro loop.

But either type can be used on any camera in theory. I ordered a pro loop cos I preferred the look :D

The Canon/nikon/sony/pentax etc strap slips off your shoulder, the FANTASTIC you need this in your life tp strap does not because of it's special silicone grip on the underside.

The Canon/nikon/sony/pentax etc strap digs in your neck, the UNBELIEVABLY GOOD VALUE must have at all costs tp strap is a bit wider than the stock straps and spreads the load over a greater area.

The Canon/nikon/sony/pentax etc strap is pretty much devoid of any elasticity to remove the shocks on your body caused by weight of the camera moving against your motion. The STUNNING have you hit buy yet? tp strap is made of a shock absorbing neoprene material with added elasticated bracing to greatly reduce the shock loading on your body. This effectively means you get home from a day out feeling less fatigued.

I just ordered a black pro loop strap for my camera and paid via Paypal :) I had some funds burning a hole in it and had change from buying a fancy whizz bang Gorillapod :D

Interest on these straps has been fantastic and stock is getting low on some of the colours. The red has sold out already !!!

If you want one of these FANTASTIC straps, you'll have to get your orders in sharpish :thumbs:

I forgot to say that I got the Pro Strap because it was a bit longer than the Pro Loop. I was a bit worried that the Pro Strap would be a bit tight for my Nikon looking at the opening post of this thread, but the strap turned out to be narrower than the original Nikon strap for anyone considering either with a Nikon. :D
