Ive been pondering and contemplating over which lens to get to replace my kit lens (18-55mm) as a general decent walk around lens. Ive narrowed it down to 3:

Canon 24-70mm f/2.8
Canon 24-105mm f/4.0
Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6.

Ive got a 350d and the kit lens just aint cutting it! Opinions on these lenses would be appreciated as read many reviews and still cant decide. Also if you wanna suggest other possible ones, feel free.

Same position as me. I'm leaning towards the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM as I've got a 70-200 and a 10-22. A slightly longer walkabout lens than the kit I think would suit me.

I have the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 and it is great, have you considered it?

Unless you're set on an L, I'd seriously look at the 28-135 IS for a walkabout. They're going for a song at the moment and there's nothing wrong with the IQ...for a walkabout, that is.

I have the 24-70 F.2.8 and I highly recomend it.Expensive. Good luck in your choice. Sean
