New camera?

Hi,
Im a beginner and I was wondering which would be the appropriate camera for me. There are so many on the market and it's difficult to tell. I guess it's wise to start off with one which is pretty easy and straight-forward to begin with. Does anyone have any suggestions?

the 350D caon is a pretty resonable DSLR to start with.its got pretty cheap since the 400 came out and its certainly good enough for pro use. easy enough to learn its ins and outs too.
