Any good? shall have to look at the rest after a bath. TFL
Nice sharp shots, although the last 3 on the first post look very dark to me.
Love the third shot on the second post though, the one with the flames.
Love the Porka with the flames!

Thanks.
They are dark, i was being faithfull to lighting conditions at the time, i was hoping tbh that the headlights would have gave a slightly more lit beam in front of the car.
I quite them dark in this case, i have some where i ramped the iso a tad, to get more light in, but to me being there they didnt feel right, If that makes sense?
Great panning shots... Super sharp.
BTW only 2nd to last is slightly dark and that aint bad!... rest are spot on.
Nice set.
The Porsche was hard work, thats full frame at 70mm, and a few steps awayfrom the barrier, as the lens was tad to long, at Westfield, which is a bloody fast corner.
I suppose the darker evening shots are kinda marmite ones, you either love em, or you hate them lol
Thanks for all the comments guys always appreciate the feed back.
Love the Porka with the flames!
That is an awesome shot !!!
Excellent shots, went there today and had a try at panning will post results soon, but lets just no where near as good as yours :) :)

Not bad mate!
I know what you mean about the dark shots. I got quite a few like that and its not down to poor metering alone - it really was quite dim towards the end of the day and the GT race on Saturday. Perhaps not quite as dim as yours or my pics show, but certainly far from full daylight!
I did try to lift some of mine up with photoshop, but there was little you could do without noise anihilating them with noise...
BTW, I think I picked out absolutely none of the WTC shots as my set this time. I thought WTC was totally boring. We were calling it "Scalextrics" all weekend... *yawn*
GT was far better, in fact I think the two GT events I've been to this year have been my faves. Perhaps even better than motorbikes... *shock*!

That makes sense, and with that in mind I'd say you got it pretty close, they definitely look like they were taken in failing light, rather than being underexposed. The colours are still nice and 'rich' (sure there is a proper 'tog term for it but I don't know it ;)).

to be honest, i dont think those last batch are anything up to your usual standard.
the headlamps have thrown the exposure out, the colours and sharpness arent to your usual standard and there is quite a lot of sensor dust.

with regards to that porsche shot, i notice its a little blurry too. I took 5 shots of that car too and mine are all blurry. I saw a shot of it by someone else and it was blurry too. Made me wonder if somehow the flame out was throwing off the AF.
I'll add my porsche shot to my thread, as i dont want to hijack yours

I agree! (and I said the same in another of RussDaz's WTC weekend threads)
Which is quite surprising as he's been spot on all year
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm the got ta couple of images open here now, they look like 2 totally different pictures between thos on the Fotki, and those opend in CS3, and even the Vista window viewer.
But i be damed as to if i can see why? there s-rgb when converted in raw. The issue only appeared since updating CS3 with the new camera raw format, changed a few defaults. Sure i reset them. Oh well cant be arsed to waste any more time at the trying to find out why, else the laptop my not be in one peice for very much longer, any idea's
A more normal shot, sharp enough? forget the colour *** its ****, prepared to email the pic to some if they want to see where the fault lays'

that def looks sharper
i like the smashing up the lap top idea!
Nah just went punched my wooden punch bag a few times, sat back then think i would out what happening, i think it was saving to a wrong colour profile/ display setting forgot i installed a calibration unit to this that may have mucked up slightly.
Try this one.

looks oversaturated on my screen, but looks like you are back on track (pardon the pun)

Thats why i was wondering why the last lot looked very odd. Can understand why the Lightroom edited ones look softer, mainly due to the way the Lightroom sharpens. I find it very hard to get that part right in it, but couldnt explain why the CS3 looked sharp but flat in colour.
Believe it or not that is pretty much unedited other the some sharpening and a tiny contrast boost.
Shall have a proper play later when i get home, try out what went wrong with the calibration. Phantone Huey, seemed to work fine on the last laptop
Right recalibrated monitor and altered the saved to profile. How are these showing up now?

Sorry forgot to answer that, no, its more down to the fact i was panning at a slightly to lower shutter for the angle of the shot, combined with the fact its was actually taken at a meduim j-peg as i was running low on memory cards.
Hi Rus,
I have my monitor calibrated and all of the shots in your first post are a bit odd abnd even the re-edited shots look a bit strange. That how ever is my only niggle as the action, sharpness and skill in these shots are awsome!!!
Hi Ally, appricate the feed back.
I have viewed them up the gym now on a couple of PC's so i am pretty happy there displaying correctly compared to my current monitor setup (as used in the re-edit)
When you say stange, in what way in your opinion? in a good way or bad way?
The lighting was a tad different at the time most of those where taken, i choose to use the different lighting and accenuate it. Maybe a bad thing then? as others have said the more conventional shots seem ok.
Like these for example's? (or not)
