Hi,

Here are some of my pics from the airshow, i have not tried taking pictures of planes before so any C&C welcome. I tried to get shots on a blue sky background but mother nature was not the most helpful.

Also my Aircraft recognition skills are very poor so if you could fill in the gaps i would be grateful!

Nice,
The "dust" is actually vapour, you get this alot when the air is a little moist.

Hi Eeverson. What kit were you using? As for recognition, the helicopter is a Royal Navy Lynx, Old crow is a P-51 Mustang and the german thingy is a messerschmitt Me 108. Nice composition, especially the reds split. Nice capture that one!

Hi Morph,

I was using a Canon 400d with a Sigma 70-300mm Lens... Most of the pictures i took were out of focus, found it pretty hard to keep them in focus, i guess thats just practice!

Nice shots

The 'not a clue' shot was a Me-108 or Me-109 from memory

was this from sat or sunday.

Weather was a little awkward, and changeable on the saturday when i was there.

like you - i need more practice :D

Hi there not bad for your first time. one way to sort out your focus problem is to set you it to all-servo this way the camera will keep track of the aircraft as it moves past and should stay in focus. it also could be down to camera shake for this problem you need to pratice panning the camera and if you can invest in a IS lens as it will help. Hope this of help to you.

Thanks for the advice, I think the panning is a great hint, as i was not panning at all, just waiting statically for the shot and then firing as it were.. Will have to do some panning practice i think!

LOVE your "near miss"!!!

Pity you didn't have a slightly longer lens...
