Silly question, is it ok to take the camera gear through as hand luggage on flights or should it be in the hold? Cheers

I've taken my kit on as "carry on" several times.
It wasn't even weighed on 2 trips :D
All the advice Ive read says always take it as carry on.
Surely you dont need a plane, birdy? :p

But remember, departing the UK you're only allowed to take one carry-on bag and absolutely everything must go in it. Furthermore, some airlines put pretty ridiculous restrictions on the size and weight of your carry-on bag. OK, it might not be measured or weighed at the airport, but it might, so it's up to you whether you want to risk it. Check, double-check, and check again what your airline's policy is.
I've flown several times with camera gear as hand luggage.

Cheers Stewartr, have checked and bag is within size and weights but as you say will double check and then once more :)
