View Full Version : Some Waterfall shots
Took this photo this morning, taken hand held. I am quite happy with it apart from the log sticking out of the front.
Anyone have a saw or axe I can borrow :whistling:
C&C welcome.

I like this a lot Taxi, what exposure did you use to mist the water as I am keen on trying something like this myself.
As you say shame about the log but can't have it all I suppose:lol:

Agree with your comment about the log however the crop makes me wonder what you have left out. I feel slightly cramped by the two large rocks and not sure where to look as they compete with each other (the log?). Was the full image so bad to look at?

exif data is f6.3 @ 1/10s iso 100
Hope this helps birdy961. Thanks for you comments
HUN I was trying to get something like this, the rocks are a little on the large side, I will agree with you on that. The original image is not much larger as I pretty much just crop the top and bottom off.
I've been reading the tutorials website posted by Oldgit, http://ronbigelow.com/index.html, and getting ideas above my station. Very informative website, highly recommended.
I no longer have the original as I did a very thorough clean out of my hard disk. I have included 2 other photos from the shoot this morning to give you an idea of what is missing from the crop below.
The first image is just a record photo of the waterfall,

The second image is just something I tried messing about

Cheers Taxi, all I need to do now is find a waterfall!:D
From the other two shots you posted it looks like you could get in there and get that log (and the crud it's collected) out of there.
Would be well worth another visit I reckon. Perhaps a portrait version showing more falling water and the rocks anchoring the shot could be worth a go too.
