aha! about time you processed some of these :p Looks like wading out into the river got you a good angle :) Love the blurred water, but the sky looks a bit misty :( can you burn it back into shape a bit?
I tried with the sky but apart from replacing it completely, it was out of my talent remit unfortunately :(
PS thanks for lending me the filters to take this shot :D
Just noticed it does look rather light across the trees. I'll go have a look at the TIFF.

:agree: the water, angle and bridge are loverly but the sky is a bit distracting.

Just had a quick play with the burn tool:

Guess the effect might be better on the high res tiff.
Ctrl F5. I've replaced it with a burnt version...lol
There were two layers I was playing with, and I had left them disabled when I resized for web. A bit more playing and I've redone it with the above version.

I think Jimmy's retouch is a shade better Marcel.

Nice pic, but you've all got the horizon on the ****
The bridge looks like but the water is down on the left.
where was that at m8, looks nice :)
That's a Roy Walker shot for me. (you know, it's good but it's not right ;) )
Everything's as it should be but the light. Well apart from the folks on the bridge perhaps.
If the light and sky were in the mood to co-operate the whole image would be lifted to something pretty special. Perhaps you should plan another paddling trip? :D

Hehe a very valid point.
The lighting was quite flat, and IIRC it wasnt long before lunchtime, so any direct light peeking through the clouds would have been overhead and unflattering. (Love the Roy Walker bit :D)
I think it would definitely be worthy of a trip with better light, so 'make' the image.
I'll be the first to admit it was a 'lazy' photograph, in that I didn't really sit down and think about it properly. I did have an idea about the shot in advance, of the core elements.....
Wide shot...bridge, rocks in foreground, slow shutter for smooth water, and that was it.
So any photographic errors in the shot are purely my own fault ;) I've taken shots before with a similar 'hurriedness' that I've pulled off quite well, and others where no amount of processing can make them that extra bit 'special'. I think this is one of the latter cases.
(BTW DF, I just noticed youre right about the slant too, I tried straightening it, but looking at the water horizon, it looks REALLY out now!)
Thanks for all the comments everyone! Its great to get all your views :)
