just got me a Canon 40D and then the problems start . . .
Loaded the software from the disk - did not seem to go on Automatic and then decided to open picture window in japaneeze as soon as i put a card in the reader. Next used my normal method of copying to a file and tried to open a RAW file. CS2 did not want to know it.

Back to the drawing board and had a look ant the Canon Pro. OK if you have a week to spare to convert images!

Looked on the Adobe RAW site to find that plugins only for CS3 for D40 and not CS2. At last did a quick conversion to .dng and will now have to try and delete all the Canon programmes that seem to think I can read Japaneeze!

Quick look at a couple of images at iso 1600 and a lot less noisy than the old 350D.

To make matters worse - going to get it - picked up a puncture on the way across Norfolk and managed to ruin a tyre-- not cheap on a Volvo D5!

Doesn't sound like you've had a good day :(

I found that I couldn't download my RAW (NEF) files from my Nikon D80 into CS2, so you're most definately not alone on that one!

Aside from that, I can't help, but Chin Up, surely it can't get any worse ;)

You mean you expected to buy a new camera and the software would all just work?

;)

New toys come at a price.....money and hassle!

Oouch.. That sucks.

I've a 40D on my list... sometime around xmas, but have already factored in the extra needed to upgrade to CS3 (cheeky buggers if you ask me).

Anyway here's hoping you get it sorted ASAP
