I find that I need to bend over to look through the eyepiece when I use a monopod. Now I'm 6ft 4 but I would think I should be able to get a monopod that brings the camera up to eye level.
Has anyone found one? Or do many of you end up with sore backs :D (like me)
Thanks
Allan
You can do what I do and add a ball head to the top of the monopod which will give you 3-4 inches extra height.

Good advice - I think I'd still need a new monopod as I just have a quick release plate on it, any advice on the longest (oh no I can see I'm gonna be in trouble here )

Allan,
I'm not quite as tall as you but I got the tallest I could find and still have to stoop. It's my intention to make a 15cm extension to bridge the gap (+ a little to allow inclined shots). I can knock two of them up if you want one....just postage cost.

The Manfrotto Neotec when fully extended would be way above your head. I use one - it's ace. :)

There are those funky monopods with legs that come out at the bottom to make a tripod (kinda) and I seem to remeber those being huge!
When I remember their name I will post again ;)
This is the kiddie I think you mean, but they are less than 1.8m tall

CT is that the 684B?
CT is that the 684B?
I have the 685B. They've just added a foot pedal thingy on the bottom so you can drop your foot on it , squeeze the trigger and raise the pod far easier - true one -handed operation. They've also added a small safety button so you're less likely to get it to fold accidentally.
Just found one at 1.9m thats about 6'3" in old money I believe?

Nice find Cobra
CT the 685B says it is 66.9inch which isn't that big?
A head can make quite a difference in height, but if you need extra then it would be possibly to make up an aluminium extension quite easily for little cost.

Oops - I just checked mine and fully extended with the tilt head on it's level with the top of my swede - I'm 5'11""
Put the camera on top of that and even you should be on tippy toes. :)

Thats TRUE
Theres me looking for 6ft 4 - but of course my eyes aren't at the top of my head (sometimes in the back of my head with the kids :) ) and with a camera on top that brings it up some as well.
