Hi all,
My brother is a PE teacher, and is after a camera to use in school. He wants something along these lines:

Second hand
Around £100 ish
5MP or greater
10X Optical zoom would be great
As little shutter lag as possibleThe rest of the spec isn't that important. I've not got much of a clue about consumer cameras anymore. Can anyone recommend something that fits the bill?

Cheers,
Matt

For that price, it's going to be hard to find something with those specs (10x optical zoom and as little shutter lag as possible), even second hand, unless you get lucky.

Here are some I that seem to have little shutter lag:

I'd say the Panasonics have better lens, but the Fuji S6500 seems to have a better sensor, so it's a tough choice there.
DP Review has lots of reviews with timings, you might want to browse for other such zooms if you see them priced nicely.

I don't have any of those, but if I was to buy one of them super zooms, it would probably be the S6500fd because of its versatility for my purposes.

Hi,
Thanks for going to the trouble of digging those out. I didn't realise that DPReview record the shutter lag timings. I'll have a read through the reviews :)

You're welcome :)

Susane here has the Fuji S9500. She might give you a hint or two.
