I was going to spend this evening processing my pictures from Brixham, but when I got home I found that my son Matthew had decided that he & his friends would play with a large plank of wood!:nono:

Anyway after 3 hours at A&E we got the all clear to go home!:woot:

LOL You're a true photographer my son, a true photographer :D

Ouch though, that looks painful. How did he do it? Like nettie says...the joys of parenthood eh?

when you think about it, its quite worrying the lack of pain threshold that children seem to have...lol

Kids foreheads always seem to swell up like the Elephant Man with the slightest bump!

Id not have bothered to go to A&E but you were right to do so to be on the safe side.

Glad Matthew is ok now

Nice to see somebody bringing up their kids properly and letting them get into allsorts of scrapes rather than treating them like bone china all the time!

I lost count of all the times I nearly gave my parents heart failure when I was a kid!

My 3 year old is always coming home with bumps & scrapes from nursery. Nothing quite as nice as that bump though.

Don't you just get the urge to push it though?

Same here! When I was about 6 I was playing football in the garden with my brother.

My dad had been building a bird aviary in the garden earlier and the concrete base with the timber frame, just creosoted was there in the corner of the lawn with no wire mesh.

The ball ran onto the concrete base and I went after it and didnt see the timber framework!!

WHACK!!! It hit me full in the face and sent me flying backwards onto the lawn with a mouth full of blood, creosote, splinters, and my two front teeth!!

And yes, I guess they DO think they may've wished they'd had a pink lacey girl, as many other such incidents followed!! :D

One of his "friends" dropped a bit of concrete onto a pile of planks, one jumped up & hit him full on!

We thats his story & he's sticking to it!

Would not have normally bothered Janice, but he was originally concussed for about an hour, so didn't want to take any chances.

He is back to normal now!:'(

Wahey, glad he's much better now :)

My littleun (the 3 yr old boy) went a cropper this evening...he came down the stairs following his sister, and wearing only socks on laminate flooring, held onto the doorframe to do a U-turn into the living room, got his foot caught and went

"Weeeeeeeeee"
quickly followed by
"Waaaaaaahhhh"

and "*sob* I *sob* went *sob* flllyyyyyyyiiiiinnnnng *sniffle*"
