down at the exit of nickerbrook is always a good spot to photograph, if you have a good zoom you can get in close on the action into the chicane and its a nice spot for panning as they exit the knickerbrook complex and head off up clay hill
as above this is a good spot to start with..
as for settings and panning i would say start off with a shutter speed of around 500th and track the bikes for as long as you can after a while you will be able to keep moving the shutter speeds down till somewhere around 125th this sould give you some nice blurring in the wheels and if the panning is ok a sharp bike.
most important enjoy yourself
if its not fun you wont like it :naughty:
good luck
hope you get some more " better advice"

The shutter speed for my camera is 8-1/1 000 secs in 1/3 increments is that good or bad. I am only sixteen and learning all the time so i need all help i can get.
Hi mate, what camera and lens options have you got?
I have several gallerys from from Oulton, they have the full exif files regarding focal length, and shutter speeds taken. But it also depends what circuit config there be using.
I use manual exposure all the time, how ever, i'd sugest you used shutter proitiry which is Tv on the topleft hand wheel on the canon, dont know for Nikon.
Pick your target area, say corner apex, face that point so your standing looking straight at that point. Imagine you have headlights fitted to each hip and you want the lights to light the choosen point.
Then pick up your choosen target object, (car, bike) as early as possible, track the object to and after you have taken the picture. Try to keep your feet fix to the floor.
Start with some bikes

See any there you like then ask i'll tell you at what point they where taken from.

This is the camera i will be using yes its a 'piont and click':)
I was using something like that last year mate, we all start some where.
I dont think that has a focus Servo, so in which case you shall need to pre-focus on the point you want to take the photo by pressing half down on the shutter, then pick the target up with the shutter still have pressed, track until its in focus then take the photo. Takes alot of practice doing that, so dont be to suprised if you cant re-create any photos you seen on the links.
To which yes it was taken at the exit of the Knickerbrook Chicane.
