Still trying to get to grips with Mono conversions

I use channel mixer, but still never sure I've got the balance between the three channels correct.

to think I used to have a fringe like that
the conversion looks fine to me.. a little dark but if thats the effect you were going for.
perchance you've oversharpened the eyes a tad..:lol:

Looks fine to me too, nice shot.
I tend to make sure all the changed percentages add up to 100 as a total, take it out of one colour and put it back with another . :shrug:

I don't think there is any right or wrong with this one. Above conversion looks fine to me. as long as the balance you've used brings out the detail/contrast you wanted and hasn't made it excessively noisy then you're there!
