Holiday ideas?!

I'm looking to go away (on my own) sometime before the end of the year, or very early next year. It would be for a long weekend, so approx 4 nights and must be affordable! I have been looking at NYC, but in December that will cost an absolute fortune :(

I'm looking at a budget of about £1k, so suggestions are welcome! Oh and i have no desire to sit on a beach for a week in some crappy resort and never leave the hotel :lol:

Have you considered Southern Germany? Friedrichshafen?

Cheap flights £2.79 going, £1 return.

Lake Constance, town full of history, Zeppelin museum. Fantastic food. Great beer. Go by train to Munich for the :beer: Festival :D

Or hire a car and drive to.... Austria? Switzerland? Lunch in Italy - over the Alps.

Or both.

Did I mention the beer?

Well i've just booked my NYC hotel and Knicks ticket! I just need a flight now :)
