I'm fairly close to being able to afford the nikkor 70-200VR and am seriously considering buying from a Hong Kong ebay seller as it is just so much cheaper to do so.

What I am concerned about is the warranty. A lot of them state '12 months Nikon international warranty' but I'm not exactly sure what that would entail.

Would I have to send it back to HK in the event of a fault?
Could I get it repaired at a UK based nikon authorised repairer?

By buying from overseas is there anything else that I would be missing out on compared to buying in the UK?

I had to send a Sigma lens back to HK but they paid for postage and refunded the duty I had to pay when it came back. So, no loss for me.

Unsure about Nikon warranty, but if it s a good seller then you should not have a problem either way.
