I thought this one would nicely accompany the theme of Autumn which is running for the monthly competition (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=34572)

Interpret 'Nature's Abstract' as you will, could be a macro leaf pattern, or the vast plough lines of a field
... just get out there and do your thing :D

Rules

None really, but if you're submitting a photo, please comment on 2 other photos in the the thread, one of which should be the one preceeding your post .....Unless you're the first person posting of course. ;)

Lovely, wintery shot Grendel, just needs a Robin on the post ;)

Here's another one, a beach at low tide - sorry for the quality but it was taken with my point and shoot.

Toothie, good shot. I think you can get some really interesting things with the whispy stuff :)
Antihero, I love this shot. I think the yellow of the rose is amazing, and the dew makes it feel cold!! :| The shadows which are cast due to the sunlight only adds to the effect. :)

So I thought I'd give it a shot here.....

I know theres still things to learn, but hopefully I'm getting there!!!

Nice image Adele and antihero, love that, though I would love to see a close crop so that the whole frame is filled with petals.

heres one from Norway....

I think it could do with the levels being adjusted, it looks a bit over exposed and lacking in punch. It might be an idea to crop in a bit and lose the green backround which will focus the attention on the petals.

Here is my offering....

Found one that may qualify as abstract.:)

LadyP, that's my idea of abstract, would look good in B&W too.

Hacker, perfect.

Damn... having scoured my hard drive, I'm not sure I have anything which really suits the theme, but you surely can't expect people to get the camera out and ....and go and shoot something?

Anyway I offer you this one I called 'Surfer' .... clever huh? :naughty:

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/gallery/data/500/Surfer.jpg

Colin - lovely shot - can't really fault it at all.

Susane - that reflected geometric shape is great. The shot just lacks a bit of interest on the lower right?

CT - Nice deep colours, the border puts me off a little though.

Hacker - Very nice, I like it a lot. Like 18 tiny little mirrors pointing back at you. Good job.

My offering....

I like it a lot. The twisted trees have kind of a magical/fantasy feel to them. Like a mythical creature's grotto.

Thanks for looking

antihero Love that yellow rose
syeuk2002 Lovely subject, although seems very bright.

Below is my offering; Nature taking its course on an old wooden barge.

Byrhtnoth: Interesting spin on nature! Nice capture - looks a little dark around the 'ribs' on my monitor - but I'm just being picky I think!

Syeuk2002 Nicely seen and taken - like the colours and sweep of the two trees

Here's my attempt - heavily cropped and processed for effect!

Byrhtnoth: Good example of nature creating abstracts rather than a naturally occuring one - great shot

Dark Star: The cropping of this one is very effective for the theme - lovely colours

My attempt - an abstract that occurs at most sunsets up here and is constantly changing

I'm absolutely brand new and I don't know whether this post will even work - or indeed whether I'm too late for this theme!
Here goes anyway.........

Ok, at least it's a photo, although it's very small!!
Kept getting a message saying my file size was too big, so I've reduced it 3 times before I could post it.

ANYHOW....if it's not too late for the nature's abstract theme, any constructive criticism would be gratefully received

How about fireworks or halloween?
I'm sure most of us will try to get some firework shots.
