Hi
After being given advice about multiple exposures, I tried it out today on the remains of this sorry looking boat.
I have then HDR them in CS3 but seem to have messed no2 up through too much playing about, as I tried to expose the wood in the foreground. :bang:
Anyway i have posted these for some C & C so please let me know what you think i could of done to improve on these.

First one's best for me. #'s 2 and 3 look to have had way too much processing and seem to have lost the "naturalness", if you know what I mean :)

Thanks for the reply dod.
Yeah I know what you mean, the more Ive looked at 2 and 3 the more they seem so unatural. I will leave the processing of photos alone at the mo :shake:

Was also looking for any advice on how i could improve on these shots. Composition, light, filters e.t.c
Anyone
Please be honest and brutal as I want to improve from my mistakes.

Great subject you've found here.
I also like no 1 for it's natural tones and pleasing light, it looks slightly warmer than the others and at first was the one that drew my attention.
After a while though the stronger composition of no 2 drew me in and is certainly my favourite. It does have a cold greeny cast to it though, maybe try a warming filter in PS and possibly adding a gradient to the sky to focus the attention even more on the boat.
No 3 doesn't really do it for me, I find myself looking past the boat of into the distance, sorry.

Just my opinions but I hope they help.......

2 and 3 are just wrong.

1 is a great shot, might need a crop to lose some of the right hand side, but its got stuff

#1 for me. 2 & 3 are over processed and have issues.

As has been said before in other threads, an ND grad will help darken the sky allowing you to expose for the foreground (or at least get a more pleasing balance between foreground and sky).

The composition of #3 just seems wrong, i find myself looking around the shot, but not finding anything to catch my eye. The shadow areas have also lost all detail and are too dark.

Thanks everyone
I agree 2 and 3 are wrong due to processing, but like Benroy 2 is my fav composition shot whilst 1 looks natural.

Feedback greatly recieved as im learning from this
