Just a couple of shots today. At the end of our Journey up the Icefields Parkway was a stay just outside Jasper in cabin type accomodation. Fireplace and wood for log fires... and central heating if you were too lazy to light a fire.

Just across the road from the accomodation is the Athabasca river and chairs are provided at the top of the river bank so you can sit and take in this view.

I had to get down low by the river of course. The polariser darkens the sky well here - too well with wide angle as the effect is uneven. Still like it though.

Just included this one to illustrate how a polariser does not work in the wrong direction relative to the sun position....and the view in that direction was pretty good too.

I would say that around Jasper was my favourite place on the holiday so more pictures to come :)

Nice shots, looks like the weather was quite nice for you.

We drove up to Banff from Calgary today it was a complete blizzard. Its curently -3c and they are expecting 4cm of snow overnight. If it keeps this up we wont be going to Jasper as its a bit long of a drive for the rental yaris also it doesnt do hills too well :D.

Snow was not out of the question in September and I was concerned a few times that we might have a problem but we were lucky. It did top up the white bits on the mountains nicely though!

It was snowy for most of the road up to Banff from about 20 miles outside of Calary.
