Spotted a good weather forecast & shot down to Snowdonia today, reflections were pretty awesome - it's not very often they can be captured !!
I'd appreciate peoples opinions on which version of this they prefer & why
1st is full polarisation, 2nd miminal polarisation
thanks

I'd go with the first one as the colours are richer, although the 2nd one looks sharper
got to be #1
much more sky detail
and the mountain tops are better also
stunning pic either way ***

Hi simonkit
I prefer the first one with the full polarisation.
I think this is due to the vivid colours, detail in the sky and the the contrast of the mountains in the background.
Although the rock in the foreground on #1 has lost some detail, would a NDGrad filter helped in retaining the foreground detail? Or would you have lost the reflection?
Hope you don't mind me asking due to my lack of experience.

Number 1 for me too - due to the saturated colour.
Stunning image - well done!

No 1 for me. Its beautiful :)
The first picture looks to have been processed differently with higher contrast. Are these from RAW or jpeg? If jpeg then the camera may have processed them differently.
And what does minimal polarisation mean? Did you just turn the polariser to reduce the effect?
I prefer the lower contrast of the second one but don't see why the first can't look like that and keep the sky detail.

The first one looks almost HDR'd. I like the sky in it, but prefer the rocks and the shoreline in the second.
i prefer the colours on the first one

1st one for me, looks more how i'd like to remember the view, irrespective of how it looked on the day.

Thanks everyone for the comments/feedback.
To be honest normally I'm very much a "natural look" photographer but this time around the polarised shot really grabs me - I like the extra "pop" it has
