i had in mind something old looking, but wasnt happy with anything i created, so fire away chaps, what can you do? An explanation of what you did please too
The photo was taken in the barn at groombridge place, something to do with Pride and Prejudice...(me and the wife spent the day at groombridge, where they filmed it, making up silly things, like stopping at a point and saying 'this is where the groundman turned and said 'Why Mr Darcy, i believe you have just Guffed Sah!' and 'Mr Darcy! said Elizabeth sternly 'Did you just touch my arse???' )
ok i was bored...:coat:
Your big link is not working ;)
oops cheers steve, an extra http:// in there!
OK, here's my attempt
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/djw_666/IMG_5605DJWversion.jpg
Steps were as follows in PS CS :-
1. Image -> Adjustments -> Auto Levels .... much improved contrast etc.
2. Filter -> Noise -> Add noise -> 5% .... individual choice that could be omitted
3. Image -> Adjustments -> Shadow / Highlight -> 50% Highlight ... improves contrast of main lettering
4. Cropped & light grey border added.
Here's mine, took about 5 mins
1. levels
2. add S-curve layer, normal, opacity about 60%
3. Flatten
4. Convert to monochrome, colourise
5. Select desk and adjust levels to bring it out
6. Make a selection around text and slight levels adjustment to bring it out a bit more
7. Use diffuse glow filter. Not quite what I was looking for but close.

Awww, just for me. I feel special now :p
Actually in that picture it works very well indeed and adds rather than distracts in the usual manner were people use it just because they can.
Cheers steve,
I was actually surprised by how well it worked on that image.
just for the record I've just ordered a couple of LOMO type cameras from the lomography webby, a holga cheapy 120 roll film one and a 35mm fish-eye camera. I'm quite interested in the fisheye especially. Think I might use slide film and cross process. So expect to see some very strange photo's appearing on here soon. Only problem is the film scanner I have doesn't do 120 negs, so I may not be able to get those up!
that last one from Ghandi was the kind of thing i was going for, with a nice bit of sepia tint though

Although I think I prefer the original LOMO one......
By the way, your invoicer is in the post :thumb:
lol!
Thats pretty good, its the phrase that caught my eye and i wanted to get that kind of look, not bad! now i need to try it myself when i get some bloody time!
