So my wife has decided she wants a new point and shoot for christmas.
She wants something not too bulky, the smaller in size the better to be honest, it also needs to have optical zoom.
Any recommendations ? Got a budget of around £200.
Thanks
I picked up an olympus FE-210 for the wife, not a bad wee camera at all. Got limitations but okay for what it is :)
heres a pic straight from the cam (http://www.eospics.com/wales2007/slides/PA020241.html)
sounds like a good swap :coat:

the Canon IXUX range seem good, got a 75 (was about £200)
Full res (completely un-touched) shot - http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/1152/img0657qi7.jpg
I has more and more features the more I play with it :D
Yep i'd highly recommend the Canon IXUS range too, the 70 or 75 are great, I have teh 65, it's awesome (basically the same as te 75 except it's silver and is 6MP instead of 7.1).

Thanks for the above guys.
Being a canon man i'm drawn towards the IXUS :canon: :D
Hehe yeah same with me, i'v got my entire family using the Canon IXUS seris (except my dad who uses a EOS 3V) :P
I have just seen some pics taken with the canon ixus i7 zoom
and am very impressed.
On the darkside of things :) I just bought my lad the Nikon coolpix L10 and it produces great pics.

If you can afford one, the canon G9 is meant to be a cracking bit of kit.
Slightly over your budget, but it is meant to be v. good by all accounts.
Anth
Yeah te G9 looks amasing for a compact, has loads of features you would find in an SLR...like the top flash mount (I personally think a compact would look really wierd with a flashgun ontop but whatever).
If I was going to upgrade my compact (not that I need to, I never use it), i'd probably go with the G9.
You can pick one up for about £280 on eBay, brand new with a 2gig card.
