i'm tempted to get this camera

Canon Powershot S5

Any horror stories? Any 'best-thing-since-sliced-bread' type stories?

my budget is £200, at a stretch a bit over (this cam era is 235 on amazon, but 400 in jessops.)

Will the price come down after xmas?

It's a relatively new camera. AFAIK, it has the same lens as the powershot S3, but with some additions. I'm sure there's online reviews, but most people are very happy with their S3's, so the S5 should be good.

No first hand experience, but my Canon A70 is still working 3 years on.

A70 is only 3mp..

i currently have a nikon coolpix 5200.

Any tips on camera prices now that we're approaching the end of the year?

Try the link, this site is usually no1 for reviews. Although its owner has now sold out whot knows which way it will go.

Yeah..i read that site when looking at camera reviews.

It looks to be a good camera. I just want to try it first before saying "yes i'll take it..".

I think i tried jessops a while back, but they wanted a deposit to get it in..

i might try phoning them to see if they have any in..
